Pepper Phillips and her latest ‘THE CHRISTMAS GIFT’

It’s my birthday today.  Yeah, me!  Another year!  Several years ago, it was iffy if I’d get this far.

Today, I’m celebrating by giving away copies of my latest release, THE CHRISTMAS GIFT.  It will be FREE Sunday and Monday, so grab your copy.

Life for eleven-year-old George is one disappointment after another. Never mind America is in the grips of the Great Depression, his mother is dead and his crook of a father has deserted him. The only person who cares about George is his reclusive grandmother who’s nursing a broken heart. George must take care of both of them, tending the garden, milking the cows and even catching fish for the dinner table.

But Christmas is coming and George wants more for his grandmother and for himself. There’s no money for presents, however, and how can he earn any when he can’t even afford a decent pair of pants or a proper barber haircut?

When an opportunity to make money presents itself, George faces the biggest decision of his life. Will he become a thief like his father or will he discover the fact that giving, rather than receiving, is the best gift of all?

You hear writers explain that they are writing the ‘book of their heart’…this one is mine.  It’s a different kind of Christmas story.  But I think it will touch your heart as well.

Get your FREE copy here.  It’s only available on Amazon, and you can obtain a FREE Kindle App for your computer, phone, and other things I don’t know how to operate.  And if you want to give me a gift back, how about a Tweet or Facebook mention.  I’d love it!
