Learning WordPress – Part 3…

I finished with the WordPress Tutorials…they only glossed over some of the elements of their program.

However, I added an blavator.  If you get your binoculars you can see my photo next to my name on the URL thingie at the top of your screen that shows the different sites you are looking at.  Please forgive me for not using a better name than ‘thingie’ but I’m doing this for a certain amount of time in a day.

Here’s how I did it.  Go to Settings on left hand side.  Click on General.  Blog Picture/Icon is on the right hand side of the screen.  Browse your picture file and click on what you want to use.  Upload Image.  You need a square image, so cut the picture to your desire and save.  That’s it.

In the sidebar, I added a Facebook Like page.  ‘Like me’ if you like me.  LOL..  As you can see there, Clover likes me twice.  Thank you Clover.  Warning:  I need to learn Facebook as well.  Ah, another series of ‘Learning’ posts.  You will see a partial cover of The Devil Has Dimples in the sidebar.  I need to fix that on Facebook.  It’s always something…

I managed to delete the Blogroll from the sidebar, but still have two in the footer.  That will be fixed when I get to that part of the instructions.

Since I was finished with the tutorial, I grabbed a book I purchased last year, but haven’t cracked open yet. “Teach Yourself Visually WordPress“…it’s almost 300 pages, but there are a lot of pictures.  I’m a visual learner, so hopefully this should stimulate my peabrain.   They have a Kindle version, but I’d rather read it in book format.  There is a $1.62 price difference between the two.  At least once I learn everything I need to know, I can resell the book if I choose.  I stopped today on page 23.  I skipped over the parts such as starting, etc.

That’s it for the day.  And as Scarlett said, “Tomorrow is another day.”

The design for your weblog is a bit off in Epiphany. Nevertheless I like your blog. I may need to use a normal browser just to enjoy it.
