Book Covers and Editors

The Devil Has Dimples is now in the hands of two editors, and on my book cover designer’s desk.  It’s hard to believe that my work will soon ‘be out there’.

It’s quite exciting, but daunting as well.  There is so much to do.  My ‘to-do’ list grows every day.  I hadn’t expected to do a WordPress website, but here I am.  The instructions weren’t clear to me on how to put in a contact button, but I’ll have to check the workshop notes I attended last year to clarify exactly how to do that.

I really should get a job as a beta person for instructions.  They need to be very specific for me to follow.   Most directions believe that you are somewhat competent to follow their steps.  No.  They missed a step somewhere.  Usually it’s in the beginning, telling me exactly where to start.

If I can figure this out, I might share.  I state ‘might’ because sometimes I get lucky and don’t realize how I finally managed to do something.

  1. Hi Pepper,

I followed you over from my blog. So am I right in assuming you’re self-publishing your book? Or is it with an e-pub?

If you’re self-publishing it, we are at the exact same path in our journey. My book is with my editor too. I was lucky enough to get my cover designed two weeks or so ago, but there is still some fine tuning that needs to be done to it before uploading it to the online bookstores.

But the very first thing I did after deciding to self-publish was put up a website.

LOL, it looks like we are doing all the same things, at close to the same times.

Looking forward to getting to know you.
(love the title of your book!)

  2. Yes, Trish, I am doing the self-publishing route. I’m still working on the website and am reviewing the notes from a WordPress class that I took. I want to upload my cover ASAP, so that is the first goal.

I love the title of my book as well, and when you see the cover, you’ll love it!

Just popped over from Twitter to take a look.
Love your sunny site and your fun-sounding stories.
Wishing you the very best of luck!

  4. Totally with you regarding instructions, especially for website stuff! Best wishes!
